Digital8 records digital audio and video comparable to MiniDV on affordable Hi8 tapes. The DCR-TRV280 features a 1/6" CCD imager with 290K (effective) pixels, which provides great clarity and detail, with exceptional analog video performance. The 20x digital zoom will get you right up close to the action. In addition, the 990x digital zoom interpolation means that extreme digital zooming is clearer, with less distortion than previous types of digital zooms.
The i.LINK digital interface (IEEE 1394) provides outstanding transfer speed and quality for digital video editing on your computer or digital VCR. It gives you true digital-to-digital editing, without any of the "generation loss" that results in lower quality when you make analog copies.
